{"id":728,"date":"2014-08-20T14:55:56","date_gmt":"2014-08-20T14:55:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.azipit.co.za\/mica2014\/?p=728"},"modified":"2014-08-28T10:48:15","modified_gmt":"2014-08-28T10:48:15","slug":"make-a-planters-yardstick-for-those-spring-seedlings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lion-test-sites.co.za\/mica-new\/make-a-planters-yardstick-for-those-spring-seedlings\/","title":{"rendered":"Make a planter&#8217;s yardstick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>What you will need:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"listStyles\">\n<li>10cm x 120cm piece of wood<\/li>\n<li>Table Saw<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol class=\"listStyles\">\n<li>Take your piece of wood and bevel one of the long edges with a table saw  shave it at a 45-degree angle.<\/li>\n<li>Along the other long edge, cut alternating deep and shallow triangular notches at 15cm intervals.<\/li>\n<li>When planting seeds or setting out young plants, use the sharp edge to help make a furrow.<\/li>\n<li>Lay the board on its side, and use the intervals to help you space the seeds and seedlings evenly.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Note: different plants need different gaps.
