{"id":673,"date":"2014-08-20T11:08:42","date_gmt":"2014-08-20T11:08:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.azipit.co.za\/mica2014\/?p=673"},"modified":"2014-08-28T11:12:23","modified_gmt":"2014-08-28T11:12:23","slug":"how-to-make-a-hexagonal-table","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lion-test-sites.co.za\/mica-new\/how-to-make-a-hexagonal-table\/","title":{"rendered":"How to make a hexagonal table"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>What you will need:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"listStyles\">\n<li>7  8 Plumbing pipes (which you can later paint)<\/li>\n<li>Four 255&#215;25 mm black iron nipple fittings <\/li>\n<li>Eight 204mm x 25mm black iron nipple fittings <\/li>\n<li>One 406 x 25mm black iron nipple fittings <\/li>\n<li>Four 25mm floor flanges <\/li>\n<li>Four wheels to fit 25mm pipe <\/li>\n<li>Six 25mm black iron tee fittings <\/li>\n<li>Four 2440mm x 25mm x 305mm wood planks <\/li>\n<li>Six 1220mm x 25mm x 50mm wood pieces <\/li>\n<li>One 1220mm x 25mm x  203mm hard wood piece <\/li>\n<li>Protractor <\/li>\n<li>Pencil <\/li>\n<li>16 (at least) 19mm screws<\/li>\n<li>50 (or so) 32mm screws<\/li>\n<li>Sand paper <\/li>\n<li>Wood stain <\/li>\n<li>Polyurethane Gloss <\/li>\n<li>Clean rags or brushes<\/li>\n<li>Power saw<\/li>\n<li>Drill <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol class=\"listStyles\">\n<li>Fasten your 2440mm planks together using your 1220mm piece using the 32mm screws. <\/li>\n<li>Draw your hexagon outline using a protractor. There should be 6 corners and the angle inbetween each corner needs to be 120 degrees. Each side should measure about 660mm. <\/li>\n<li>Once you are happy with the shape use your saw to cut the planks.<\/li>\n<li>Assemble your pipes to form the table legs using the iron fittings. <\/li>\n<li>Ensure the table top is upside down. For the lip, cut 6, 660mm pieces from the 1220mm pieces. <\/li>\n<li>Secure these pieces along the edge of the table with 32mm screws. <\/li>\n<li>Sand the entire table top to ensure it is smooth. <\/li>\n<li>If you wish to stain do so now. Painting about 3 coats  allowing to dry I between and then painting a gloss over to finish it off. <\/li>\n<li>Once dry you can screw the legs in to the table. <\/li>\n<li>If you want at this point you can screw the wheels are casters onto the table. <\/li>\n<li>Enjoy your new trendy table. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you need a trendy table that will fit in a small space easily?
