{"id":568,"date":"2014-08-18T14:51:01","date_gmt":"2014-08-18T14:51:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.azipit.co.za\/mica2014\/?p=568"},"modified":"2015-07-09T12:42:01","modified_gmt":"2015-07-09T12:42:01","slug":"how-to-make-a-to-do-list-chalkboard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lion-test-sites.co.za\/mica-new\/how-to-make-a-to-do-list-chalkboard\/","title":{"rendered":"How to make a to-do list chalkboard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>What you will need:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"listStyles\">\n<li>3mm white coated masonite cut to 500 x 380mm<\/li>\n<li>Two 12mm Supawood cut to 60 x 650mm<\/li>\n<li>Five of 12mm SupaWood cute to 60 x 380mm (offcuts will<br \/>\n                    also work for wood)<\/li>\n<li>500mm length of a quarter round pine trim<\/li>\n<li>Two of 650mm length decorative trim<\/li>\n<li>Rust-Oleum Chalkboard Spray Paint<\/li>\n<li>No More Nails adhesive<\/li>\n<li>Colour Co. Supa Matt low-sheen paint  white 120-grit<br \/>\n                    sandpaper<\/li>\n<li>Quick clamps<\/li>\n<li>Jigsaw and clean-cut blade<\/li>\n<li>Workbench<\/li>\n<li>Paintbrush or foam roller<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol class=\"listStyles\">\n<li>Place the masonite cut on a workbench and cover the<br \/>\n                    area that you are working in with newspaper to protect it.<br \/>\n                    Spray on a light coat, working from left to right as you<br \/>\n                    work your way downwards. Let the first coat dry before<br \/>\n                    applying a second layer.<\/li>\n<li>Apply No More Nails adhesive in zig-zagged lines to the<br \/>\n                    top, sides and bottom sections of the wood cuts. Get as<br \/>\n                    close to the edge as possible to ensure there are no gaps<br \/>\n                    between the masonite board and wood on top.<\/li>\n<li>Place the frame sections on the masonite board. Press<br \/>\n                    down each piece of wood firmly. You may want to use clamps<br \/>\n                    or heavy objects to hold it down. Leave the pieces to dry<br \/>\n                    overnight.<\/li>\n<li>Apply the No More Nails Adhesive to the back of the<br \/>\n                    Pine trim. Stick it down around the edges and use a clamp<br \/>\n                    or object to hold it down again until dry.<\/li>\n<li>Apply the No More Nails Adhesive to the back of the<br \/>\n                    decorative trim you have chosen. Stick it down around the<br \/>\n                    edges and use a clamp or object to hold it down again until<br \/>\n                    dry.<\/li>\n<li>Take the remaining piece of wood, draw out a design you<br \/>\n                    would like, cut with a jigsaw and sand it down so that<br \/>\n                    there are no rough edges with the 120-grit<br \/>\n                    sandpaper.<\/li>\n<li>Glue the ration to the top of the menu<br \/>\n                    board<\/li>\n<li>Apply two coats of the Colour Co. Supa Matt paint,<br \/>\n                    allowing time for each coat to dry in between. Use a small<br \/>\n                    paintbrush to get around edges and in small corners.Use the<br \/>\n                    foam roller for large areas to allow for smooth<br \/>\n                    strokes.<\/li>\n<li>To hang your creation, attach two hangers at the back<br \/>\n                    with small screws.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Want an attractive menu board for outside your restaurant or a to-do list board for your home?
